For those who didn't see it...I helped design this logo for Penao. Penao doesn't have a home academy right now, so this is more of personal logo.
"Penao" is a nickname meaning a large feather. My understanding is it was Penao's older brother's nickname and he got stuck with it somehow. There's another story going around that it has something to do with his sweeps.
Anyways, the design incorporates the feather and the colour scheme of the 6th degree black belt. My excellent friend Marnie Gillis did the design work. I had some help along the way from Adam Gravelle and Joel MacKenzie.
In my humble opinion, it's one of the cleaner, classier BJJ logos I've ever seen.
